Booking flight tickets directly costs much lower than booking through online. Is it true?

I'm not sure what you mean by booking flights directly. Do you mean at the airport counter? If so, then they will generally match the fare that is found on their own website, but they may charge an additional fee for booking in person.
You can often find better deals by shopping around a bit online.

What do you mean by "directly?" do you mean going to the airline's ticket desk at the airport? If that is what you mean, NO, it is not cheaper. They charge full fare and add on a fee for buying at the ticket desk. You get much better prices by shopping around on-line.
