We have to take our CDL tests every ten years. How does applying for a motorcycle permit have anything to do with driving a truck?

Good question. Getting a mc permit effectively renews your license for another 5 yrs. If you don't have any tickets, ask nicely to speak with a manager. They could possibly waive out some test, with the exception of the hazmat test. No guarantees, but worth a try. If you have a ticket within the last 5 yrs...you are out of luck.

What the hell is wrong with CA? Sorry buddy, outside the peoples republic of liberal insanity, once we have our licenses, we have them! HAZMAT needs to be re-taken on renewal, but that's it!
