Neighbors are playing loud music. Loud enough for me to knock on the door? (and if so, any advice on how to handle that situation)?

It's still too early into the night before u start knocking and get beat up. Let the proper authorities take care of this after 10pm. This 2014 u do not know these people and some people get a nasty attitude.

Don't even bother approaching. I've politely approached two neighbors at two different places. Not only did they have an Attitude but they basically ignored me. U can call a noise complaint in earlier in day and say u have to get up early. I didn't even GI e an excuse they still stopped by around noon. There is a thing called disturbing the peace. U can play music but it can only be in moderation

first of all it is THEIR music, second - 9.30 is too early to start b'tching, they will just tell u to f''ck off, police will tell u the same by the way, and welcome to the reality of living in apartment. this is normal life and u better pray they will stop music at 11 pm and not continue till the early hours of dawn

HAhaha, even better. I have an electric guitar and an amp (they haven't experienced it because I haven't played in a while).

Just do what we did and buy a unit that is louder than theirs will ever be. When they play the music loud, we just outblast them. They soon get the message.

I suggest your first meeting should not raise any controversy. Knock, welcome them to the neighborhood, give them a small gift- chocolates, cake etc.
