I am pansexual but most people haven't heard of it, would it be lying if I told people I am bisexual?

Pansexual is a fairly new term which includes bisexuality, in fact they are even used as synonyms for each other sometimes. While bisexuality means attracted to same and different genders pansexuality means all genders or that you care little for gender. So no you wouldn't be lying, it just wouldn't be telling the whole truth about your sexual identity. Instead of telling people you're bisexual, however, why don't you just tell them what it means?
