If I have a Co2 Canister, Do I need strong aquarium lighting?

I have a 55g with a 18" Aqueon Full Spectrum 15W Light. The hood is meant for 2 bulbs but I only have 1. Is it possible for me to add live plants?

CO2 wont help if you don't have enough light, and 15w on that size tank is for show only, it wont grow live plants. Maybe 50-100w would be "low light'

You need CO2 when you have a lot of plants and a high light level. Then the photosynthesis going on uses all the available CO2 in the system, so you have to add more.

Not enough light, the plants wont photosynthesize, and the natural CO2 wont even get used. Adding more is pointless.

What if I get a 10,000k Bulb along with the light I have? It's a Zoo Med Ocean Sun.

the idea of co2 is to have plants, it is redundant otherwise and will harm the fish
