If the Jews forsaked their land, (Palestine) no matter they were slaves or abused, why they thought the land still theirs waiting?

Firstly -- basic principles of "adverse possession" in land property law are that the previous owner abandons the land and the new owner uses it openly and with opportunity for the previous owner to reclaim it -- but the previous owner does not take the opportunity.

This is in no way what happened with Israel --

Israeli sovereignty was forcibly taken away by Rome and Jews were forcibly prevented from reclaiming sovereignty until the 20th century.

At their first opportunity, the Jews reclaimed sovereignty.

Moreover -- under the Ottoman Turkish goernment -- in the 16th century the Jews were awarded a limited autonomous kingdom in Israel with the capital at Tveria (Tiberius).

So, technicaly -- there has been a "Jewish state" in existance for over 400 years.

On the other hand, "the Palestinian people" never had sovereignty.

In fact, a careful attention to the history shows that the term "Palestinian" as refering to Arabs was introduced into usage in 1964 and refers to those Arabs of any national origin or citizenship who happened to be living in areas claimed by Israel as of the year 1946! (cf. PLO charter)

And that's over two decades AFTER the partition of the Middle East upon the disbanding of the Turkish Empire in 1920 -- when "Jewish Palestine" had already been defined by international law!

ie: "the Palestinian people" were brought into being specificaly as an agressive tactic against Israel.

Making this more generic -- the only Arab government that ever held sovereignty in Israel was the occupational government that conquered Israel in the 7th century -- and this government was toppled by a Turkish invasion in the 9th century.

    ==========

But back to the specific wording of your question --

The Jews never forsook the land of Israel.

There was always a Jewish population in Israel.

This population was limited by various occupational forces who regularly arranged or supported or tolerated massacres of Jews.

    But they persisted.

In fact --the opportunity to create a modern independent state of Israel came in 1920 because the lands held by the Ottoman empire were at that time partitioned between the indigenous population -- a sliver for the Jews and the rest for the Arabs.

The modern "international title" to Israel comes out of that secular modern partition (the same set of agreements that created Saudi Arabia, and Syria, and the Emirates, and... etc) --

not out of the Jewish group national memories and hopes.

They didn't forsake the land, they were essentially evicted by the Roman Empire following the Bar Kokhba revolt.

Emperor Hadrian renamed Israel to Syria Palaestina merging it with Roman Syria and Judaism was forbidden. He prohibited the Torah law and the Hebrew calendar, and executed Judaic scholars.

Jews were banned on pain of death from entering the new Roman city Aelia Capitolina (built on the site of Jerusalem) except for one day to commemorate the destruction of the 1st & 2nd Temples. (The temple had been destroyed in 70AD, and both it and Jerusalem were destroyed and levelled down to their foundations.)

And this was after 580,000 Jews were killed, 50 towns and 985 villages were destroyed in the revolt.

It wasn't until the 7th Century that the ban on Judaism was lifted, but the Jews were never powerful enough to retake their lands, especially when they were frequently persecuted or forced to convert by the Muslims and Christians during the Middle Ages, with incidents such as the Granada massacre in 1066 often occurring when Jews began to become 'too powerful' in the minds of Muslims.

If your ancestors had been kicked out of their ancestral lands, supposedly given to them by your God, wouldn't you want the land back?

Don't know much about history do you?

The Jews were FORCEFULLY exiled- today it is known as ethnic cleansing! Despite that, there have ALWAYS been Jews in the area of Israel. There has been an unbroken Jewish presence in Israel for the last 3500 years though there have been times when they were a very small presence due to their enemies trying to exile them all!

Jews have just returned to a land they have always been in, a country which has never been independent except for during Jewish occupation! Please tell us the name of the country that the "Palestinians" had in the area?

The old Philistine was Palistine, which today is being called Gaza - Look at the size of philistine

Now look at the size of Gaza (Today's Palestinians have had to resettle on the west bank due to the shrinking of philistine/ Today Palestine or Gaza) - It has been shrunk causing a generational resettlement.

Judea was a much larger region before the west bank become very populated with Palestinians

So the disputes are now in the west bank - which may never have happened if philistine hadn't been shrunk.

"Religion" or "race" can be used as a pretext to abuse others.

Abuse is said to be a cycle or "wheel" of life, as there is always a "bigger fish".

The logic of abuse and feuds lasting through generations makes for a sad world indeed.

It is debatable who, if anyone, profits from endless strife.

THE LAND was given to Israel by YHVH GOD and so it is theirs.
