Are you allowed to play loud music during the day in a residential area?

My neighbors are blasting speakers. Even though it's 6:30 pm (they often blast it at night as well), I'm trying to do homework, but can hear their music thumping.

Check with your Town Hall (city hall?) to see what the ordinances are in your area. Most people think that 10 pm is the normal, customary time when "quiet time," begins. While many places to set 10pm as that time, they will also have a provision that makes for exemptions. I know here in Wyoming, ANY time of day or night someone can be reported for loud noise... there is no 10pm set time. As long as the noise is annoying, it can be reported.

    Have a polite day.

Etiquette takes over where laws end.

every city has an ordinance concerning prospective problems in a residential neighborhood. Call, or go to your local town hall and they'll give you a list of what is allowed and what isn't.

Check the local ordinances. Some places ban amplified music outdoors.
