I know transgender people have rights as well but why should transgender women be allowed to use women's restroom?
Why should transgender men/women be allowed to use men/women restrooms? I m talking about the ones who haven't got surgery yet. I mean like aren't men's restrooms built differently than a woman's restrooms. And any man can cross dress like a woman and claim he is a tranny only to spy on women as they do their business.

Seriously, does anybody really think a man would like to be caught dressed as a female in a restroom, any restroom?
"I'm not transgender, I'm only pretending for all the social benefits!"
Yeah. Ask any transgender person on how simply walking in a city is a daily burden. How they love being seen as a lesser person, being ridiculed, dehumanized. A man wouldn't survive five minutes dressed as a woman.
Now, for the practical questions, what are the main differences between men and women restrooms :
- bigger mirrors in women restrooms;
- bins for hygiene products in women restrooms;
- baby changing area mostly in women restrooms;
- urinals in men restrooms.
The toilet seats are strictly the same, so the stalls aren't gendered.
Would a trans woman use the urinals : not likely.
Would a trans woman need to check her make-up : sometimes.
Would any person living at full time as a woman be safe in a men restrooms : no.
And, for the record, women can spy on women too,
and men on men - with the exposed urinals...

I think it's mainly for safety reasons. Many people are not open to being trangendered, especially straight men (but not all of course). Transgendered people face more safety risks using men's bathrooms for a few reasons. While men's rooms have urinals, any man can use a regular toilet to pee in, they do it everyday at home, so bathroom setup doesn't make a difference. I do see your point about a man just pretending to be trangendered but we as a society as well as businesses can't go around assuming that about all or that would be discrimination. If someone is making it obvious they are spying that's one thing and I think it would be obvious if they did. So because of those reasons we allow them to use the bathroom of the gender they are identifying with.

What are you suggesting - every woman has to produce proof that they really are a women before being allowed into the ladies' restrooms? How?
A totally straight, genuine non-transgender or transvestite man could easily dress up as a woman if he really wanted to, and go into the ladies' rooms. Who is going to check up?
That's a ridiculous suggestion. And anyway - as all the cubicles/stalls are private, what does it matter anyway?

This is how I view transgendered. Never judge a book by its cover. Or better yet, it's what counts on the inside. They may look like their preferred gender on the outside....

They shouldn't, unless it is a gender nuetral bathroom, they aren't really women.

You have half a point! But then, you can't check people's genitals and tell them which rest room they should go to!!

I think they should stick to the toilets of their body gender until they get the operation
