No. Hong Kong was always part of China. Chinese people from Guangdong are similar to Hong Kongers, they can speak Cantonese, they have Cantonese dishes. Of course, HK has more, such as able to access websites, more advanced and start to speak English from an early age but nowadays English is compulsory in the Chinese curriculum.
I'm getting tired of this topic so don't want to keep going on or give my view on it and regarding the protest.

Hong Kong was given back to China as per treaty so it is only China's concern.

Dream on. PRC can put 100,000 troops into Hong Kong within hours. Same deal with Tibet.
