Ontario auto collision! I was 60 percent at fault for the accident. How to settle? Look below:?
I was involved in an accident with another car. I was 60 percent at fault. How will I settle the following losses. Be sure to show all calculations and amounts to be paid out.
(a) I had a vehicle damage in the amount of $3000. I must take a cab to work for 5 days. The cab fare each day is $25. I do not suffer any physical injuries.
(b) The other party had a vehicle damage in amount $4,600. While the car is being repaired, he is using wife's vehicle so he does not need to take a cab or bus to work. Unfortunately, he was on his way up north to do some fiishing and all his fishing equipment in the amount of $1,200 was destroyed in the accident. No injuries were suffered.

This is a homework question. Go over to the homework help section with it.
How do I know it's a homework question? First, you want all calculations shown. Second, you said 60% at fault for an accident in Ontario. There are no 60-40 accident scenarios in the Ontario Fault Determination Rules. That number is only used in hypothetical situations, such as a homework assignment.
In a real accident in Ontario, your PD Liability would only cover the damage to the other guy's fishing equipment. Ontario uses the first party system (also called no-fault) for all vehicle damage and transportation replacement claims, no exceptions.

You really want us to do your homework for you? First, they wont' pay for cab fare, you can rent a car. But the price is the same, $25. As for how you settle it, very rarely do you get a percentage like that, which is why I assume that it's a homework question and not a true story. Obviously, you pay 60% of your damage and theirs.
If you were talking real world, you still have to pay for the value of a car rental in most states, even if he is using his car. That's because they are out of the use of a car and she is inconvenienced. YOu do have to pay for the fishing equipment and car damage. But the fishing equipment, you pay only the real used value, not the replacement value, of the fishing equipment.
Also, in the real world, as I said, they dont' divide it that easily. You would probably have to pay for all of their damages.

What did your insurance provider tell you they handle everything not you. That is why you pay a insurance premium.
