Looking for instructions on how to make a container dump out candy via remote control?

So we have this idea. We want to have a pinata at a halloween party and we want it to be empty save for some confetti. When whomever breaks it open and looks at the confetti and starts to complain about the distinct lack of candy, that's then we want to have a hidden container dump out the candy.

I have some ideas using a cheap remote control toy, but I'd rather not have to waste time with trial and error trying to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already done this and has already posted it to the web.

A problem you will have is the device/container has got to withstand the beating the pinata is going to get first. And if the pinata only has confetti in it, it will be very light weight.

I think the answer with the pull string(s) on a pocket/chamber is pretty good, but also think the chances it will survive the beating are low and the string(s) off to the side will be suspicious to anyone who has done a pinata before.

Why not just have some with a string. on each side pull at the given time
