  • Looking for instructions on how to make a container dump out candy via remote control?

So we have this idea. We want to have a pinata at a halloween party and we want it to be empty save for some confetti. When whomever breaks it open and looks at the confetti and starts to complain about the distinct lack of candy, that's then we want to have a hidden container dump out the candy.

I have some ideas using a cheap remote control toy, but I'd rather not have to waste time with trial and error trying to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already done this and has already posted it to the web.

  • What were pedophiles called in the 1930's and '40's?

Working on a little period fiction and I was trying to sort out what pedophiles were called in the 1930's-1940's.

Everything I've looked up shows them referred to by the modern terms (Sexual Predators, Sexual Offenders, Pedophiles, etc) but nothing I've found shows what they were called by the average public.

Did the average American use the term "Pedophile"? Or did they call them something else? Something that the psychological journals are not mentioning in favor of the scientific and modern terms?

  • Why do they call Iron a "Star Killer"?

I've heard that iron is called a "Star Killer" and I'm wondering why something that keeps me alive is something that can kill something as large as a star.

  • does the sinclair method really work and is it a cure?

I've been having problems with AA and other programs. I detox for a while and usually before a year is out I've lost control and fallen off the wagon.

Someone suggested the Sinclair Method and I was wondering if it really works.

  • What is the name of these camping poles?

I'm looking for something we used to have when I was a kid (back when rocks were soft, dirt was clean and dinosaurs used to roam the Earth...<sniff> I miss Li'll Rexy) when we used to go camping.

They were these poles that you could extend and tie down to support a tarp for shade. I can picture them, I can remember how we used to use 6 of these to create a shaded area to cover the picnic table and the tents (when the weather got really nasty).

But I just can not remember what they were called. And since I can't think of what they were called...all my net searches keep turning up with extension poles for brooms, paint rollers, things to scrape snow and ice off of roofs...

But not what I need. Can anyone help with the name (and hopefully a link or two)?

    Thanks

  • Where can I purchase a Ribbon Snake online?

I can find plenty of breeders for Boas, Pythons, Corn Snakes and the like. But I'm having a hard time finding a reputable breeder or someone who catches and sells Ribbon Snakes.

    Anyone have any good links?

  • Has anyone else had an answer disappear from Yahoo! Answers?

I've had this happen twice now. I've answered a question, it's in my list of questions I've answered, but when it goes to voting...my answer is gone.

And I know that it is not a case of it being pulled for being reported as I know that Yahoo! Answers sends an automatically generated e-mail to me stating that it was pulled...blah, blah, blah, contact Y!A...

And I can't imagine that someone would have reported my answer stating that taking one's CD's and liner notes and putting them into a CD Case to save on space would be against the Community Guidelines.

So is anyone else seeing this?
