Does USA have the equivalent of GCSE's?

In England we have GCSE's and I was wondering if America had the same thing just different name?

Also, We get to pick subjects to do in year 9, for example, 2 of the subjects I chose were music and media, does America do this also? I don't really understand how the school system works.

No. Our educational systems are different.

Student go to high school for 4 years. They must take all core subjects; math, science, English and history. Most students are 18 when they graduate. They can pick elective classes to take. This can be band, choir, orchestra, theater, art, graphic arts, foreign languages - some HS have many different electives to choose from

College and universiy are the same thing here. Both provide a 4 year Bachelor degree. US students refer to both as College. ie; I am going to college this fall at Ohio State University.

Student who chosse to go on to college will take the SAT or ACT exam.

Nothing here like GCSE, O levels or A levels.
