I've got a couple questions about my new job!can clients be friends with the people they work with. I've only had this job for five jobs.?
my job involves doing activities such as helping clients on the computer, sending emails, texting, getting set up on the PC, Internet safety, activities. I've got a client coming to mine the weekend. My boss has explained the project to me. I've have to take the client to London to take some photos. Unfortunately because the job's so big, were going to have to stay in London, because we don't live in the area. I've booked seperate rooms at a Hotel. Were only going to be away for a day
Were going to London mid afternoon, were going to finish work too late in the evening, to travel back in the evening. I've only met this girl I'm going with once. I've spoke to her on the phone, she phones me everyday. She's already asked if we can be friends and I've said sorry I'm not your property, you only work with me and we have a professional relationship and If I wasn't employed by this company, you wouldn't know me. She's phoned me today, to ask If she can referred to another colleague
My boss has told me she's trusting me to be strictly professional because the client is a girl. I've asked my boss If she thinks I should refer the client to another colleague and she's said no I trust you. I don't know this girl and I had to be hard on her

Bit OTT of you. Of course Clients can be friends, many people socialise with their clients, its good practice for the business.
I bet she was really hurt, she was not asking you for a relationship just your company.

As long as you and your friend know that there are boundaries between work and friendship, there is no reason not to be friends. Boundaries include asking you to pick up the tabs and charge it to your boss, asking you to do free work that would not be charged to the company, things like that.

You absolutely should be friends with people you work with. Relationships are the core of the entire business world.
