What do you think of Martin Luther's idea that doing good deeds won't "earn" you a spot in heaven?

That only faith in Jesus can give you any chance of receiving divine grace and possibly go to heaven? Because only God can give salvation or redemption.

People who do good deeds are not thinking of earning a seat in heaven. They do good deeds because they are good people.

Jesus must sure have liked listening to himself talk. Apparently that's the only reason he said anything.

Martin Luther was dishonest with his theology anyway. He attempted to remove James (not to mention a couple of other books out of the Bible) for the sole reason they didn't agree with what he was arguing.

He was correct... that is what I think.

Men cannot say they do not know about God. From the beginning of the world, men could see what God is like through the things He has made. This shows His power that lasts forever. It shows that He is God. (Romans 1:20)
