How can I get my natural healthy skin back after stopping the use of "Spring Valley Hair, Skin, and Nails (collagen plus)" vitamin pills?
This is a lot but I REALLY NEED ADVICE! About 2 years ago I decided to start taking "spring valley hair, skin, and nails" vitamins. They are from Walmart they cost about 6 dollars. Only reason I decided to take them was because I wanted my hair to grow longer and faster. I wasn't worried about the nails or skin part because my skin was perfectly fine and my nails as well. I began taking them for about 1 year and a few months.. But after that I decided I didn't want to have to take pills everyday. So I just stopped taking them. A few weeks/months after I permanently stopped taking them I noticed I started to get so much acne on my face (on my cheeks only.) I never suffered from acne ! I would get a pimple here and there but NEVER so much to the point my cheeks were covered in acne. It's been about a year or more that I been suffering from acne ever since I stopped taking them. I know that maybe my body got so used to them but I just want to know how to get my skin back like before I even took those dumb pills. I tried everything to clear my acne and NOTHING works, seriously nothing. Today I started using proactiv but I have a feeling my skin is just gonna get used to it and so if I stop using proactiv at some point it's just gonna start again like with the pills. I don't want to start using proactiv for good if that's the case.
maybe the pills messed up my natural collagen level.. I just want my healthy skin back to how it has always been .. :'( someone help me please.

Supplements, medications, anti-acne products, birth control pills, ALL HAVE SIDE EFFECTS that can do more harm than good. NEVER take them, unless prescribed by your doctor. All the vitamins & minerals needed, comes from your diet EVERYDAY. The side effects you're describing could be worst. Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11. It takes years to clear off them from your body. I've emphasize those same advice for 13 years.
FDA can’t track down all of these fraudulent products, so consumers need to beware of unapproved products that make false claims. When in doubt about a product, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care professional.
Allergic reaction happens to all of us in somewhere or other.

ALSO Google: Studies show hair products can cause acne
7-25-14. Studies have found that ingredients in shampoos, gels, pomades and sprays can trigger a reaction on facial skin
For your hair & nails: "Since both hair and nails are made of keratin, through a similar process in the body, it's thought that nutrients that help one can also help the other," says Dr. Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in the department of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair"
.. - or 10 Best Foods for Your Hair.
NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.
Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

If you have a bad diet - which applies to the majority of people - a daily vitamin tablet can have quite a drastic effect on your overall health, including how strongly (thickly) your hair and nails grow and what ability your body has to fight infections.
Any general "100% of everything" daily multivitamin & mineral tablet should be fine, however slow-release ones are best as they allow your system more time to absorb any traces of stuff it needs.
Note that the "bad diet" bit applies to anyone who does not get the advised "Five portions of veg" and a decent amount of wholemeal grain foods *every day* without exception, plus a reasonable selection of other foods.
I've been taking a multivitamin daily for 40 years, since I was 18, after reading an article in a science magazine about slight deficiencies being linked to accelerated ageing and degenerative diseases.
I'm the only person I know anywhere near my age group that does not have some form of health problems & is on some medication.
My rest heart rate is in the low 50s, I've had just one filling ever & my teeth are otherwise perfect - and most people think I'm 20 years younger...
They do work.

I think you tried too many things at the same time. Worst part is you did all these without consulting an expert. Beauty products with synthetic ingredients can do a lot of harm in the long term. I would recommend that you use natural oils like avocado or lavender oil for restoring the natural and healthy look of your skin.

Put a two litre water bottle as well as a glass on your desk just about every morning. Get through it by simply lunch, and do the same within the afternoon. You’ll exercise better and recover faster if you’re hydrated. I drink some water each and every time someone asks me a absurd question or sends a dumb email... find something that works to suit your needs!
