Is it legal to land our own planes on public runway?

The situation will be like this , if we bought a plane , so we have to land it on runways , when we are near to runways wil the air traffic controller give permission to land on the airport, and for 6 seater piston engine flight how much distance needes to stop the plan from land to rest and for take off also?

It is a public facility, you are a member of the public!

You simply follow the procedures laid down for using that runway, which could be anything from communicating with and being cleared by several levels of ATC through to doing a pattern entry over a grass field with nobody around for miles.

As for how much room you need, it depends on the aircraft, how it is configured for landing and a whole bunch of other things.

A Cessna 206 will get into places where a TBM850 would never go, they are both 6 place aircraft. So it is not a question with a simple answer.

. A public use airport is open to public use - you are part of the public! The only airports you can't use with out asking propr permission are military and private airports, Most airports used by personal aircraft do not even have a control tower or air traffic control, you don't have to ask anyone for permisson to land.

It will vary with the aircraft, but most light planes can operate out of a 3000 tp 3500 ft runway safely.

A little news for Stephen - there are only a hand full of airports that require arrival reservations, and that is only for IFR arrivals at peak times. Private aircraft do not buy "landing slots". Major terminals hubs may charge higher landing fees than a GA airport, but by law, a public airport can not refuse use to any aircraft.

    A) You dont HAVE to land on a runway. You could land on a beach if you wanted to and you werent breaking any laws and no one was in danger. Alaska flyers do it all the time.

    B) Each aircraft is different and will have different performance characteristics for takeoff and landing. Additionally, weightwill change those characteristics. Consult the Pilots Operating Handbook for the aircraft.

    C) You dont have to talk to controllers at all if you dont want to. There are specific scenarios wherre it is required, but many planes still flying do not even have radios.

when you learn to fly you will learn lots of things. including the definition of "public".

during my flight training i had a situation where i needed to divert (for real), and reviewed the charts for vancouver international airport as one of my options. around here there are private airstrips, private airports that people own and operate as their own business (e.g. fort langley), public general aviation airports (e.g. pitt meadows), and big bad international airports (e.g. vancouver international).
