Should Weaver return for Aliens 5?

Don't get me wrong Siqourney Weaver is one of the toughest, sexiest women in hollywood to ever pull off a total bad *** in a action role as a female lead. But she might be too old to play Ripley in a 5th Alien film.

She is expressing interest to reprise her role. Age shouldn't play too much a factor , I would agree with that. Characters get older and they go through changes, their circumstances change all the time. However, she looked the part in the 3rd and 4th film. She's much older now and I don't know if she could pull it off. I wouldn't want to see Ripley throw out her hip. Not that she isn't in shape but she is getting older now...

Then again, each Alien film in the franchise was dramatically different than the other, or previous film. She has changed her look, tone in every single film. She has in each new film taken on a new persona yet remained truthful to her role in the first film in some way as an evolved character. That's one of the most interesting things about the franchise, character is how they both evolve into something new, different yet remain truthful to the original film.

The first film wasn't as much of an action film as the second and then the third and fourth did something different and new of it's own entirely once again.

The trilogy changed the character and her tone multiple times and yet still remained truthful to her character, it was certain changes or circumstances by which the character changed and evolved that made the first 3-4 films so unique, interesting and diverse and still work.

Given that NO ONE else could play Ripley as well as she has or does. So I guess a 5th film is possible but I'm not sure if old age is really the best of circumstances to change or evolve the character by. I'd be interested to see what they come up with but the script better be good and faithful to the series.

She looked fantastic in Avatar for her age but that was a few years ago now. Age shouldn't really matter, as it's more important how the character ages or changes than the actual age of the actress. I just wonder what direction it would be taken in. Ripley isn't even alive anymore.

Part 4 was okay but hated that Ripley came back as a clone. So sadly enough i hope she doesn't come back. And let her rest in peace even though i loved her story.

Why not do something with Amanda Ripley(her daughter) who searched for her in the videogame Alien Isolation she dies at age 57 according to "Aliens" so plenty of movies to make. Another idea could be bringing Ellen Ripley back as the new "Synthetic" model...or something.

Can't do it without Ellen Ripley.
