movies DVD release dates how are they decided?
I want to purchase the movie Lucy on DVD of course it's not out until next year. I'm confused by this because another movie that I want that was released in theaters after Lucy is out on DVD before. How does that make sense, how is the wait time decided?

It depends upon how well the movie performs at the box office. If it does well, they show it longer to make more money, which means it takes longer for the DVD release. Movies that perform poorly leave the theaters quickly and are released on DVD much faster.
