Did I hear correctly, Harriet Harperson talking about limiting immigration?

The Andrew Marr show this morning, Harriet Harperson was talking about getting controls on our borders, she was acknowledging that fact that mass uncontrolled unskilled immigration is compressing wages.

I nearly dropped my tea and toast.

Labour are more pro Europe than the Tory's and that takes some doing. She knows she cannot get that whilst we are in the EU, just as the Tory's do. Now I do not want to make outlandish suggestions, but do we think that the Heywood and Middleton bye election may have had anything to do with it? Is the Labour party trying to woo those amongst its core voters that want UKIP's immigration policy? Just a thought, what do you think.

Bloody hell. I wish I'd watched it now. But thanks to the wonder of BBC iPlayer, I just have.

And yes she did, in her usual way of waffling while trying not to acknowledge it. "Yes it's a concern" kind of thing. If there's one thing Ms Harperson is good at, it's the standard political skill of talking while saying nothing, despite Andrew Marr's attempts to get her to say something.. OK, she acknowledges the fact, but what does Labour have to do anything about it? Not a blind thing, of course. I'd like to hear her up against John Humphrys.

One reason I like the inimitable Boris, by the way... he actually says things. I suppose I'm going to have to get used to him - he has been selected as the candidate for the constituency next to me, which hasn't failed to elect a Tory in the last 50 years. Just as long as nobody lets him into the local civic centre unaided. It was designed by a maniac who seems to have been given the challenge "see what you can do with a zillion red bricks". Without a guide, he might never get out. I correspond with the place if I have to - as I'm in the same London Borough - entirely by other means.

Of course recent by-election results had something to do with it. But while Labour is totally committed to the EU, what else can it say?

I'm glad to hear your tea and toast stayed where they ought to be.

This should be applied to the U.S. as well where migrant workers (legal & illegal) flock, lessening available jobs for local Americans, and reducing minimum wages below what's livable in terms of cost of living. In relation to the minimum wage issue, here's an interesting report: http://bitly.com/1n4lqIa .

Harriet is a disgusting racist, she hates the British people. And she loves pie.
