I can't understand why they cancelled the ICC World Test Championship?

It was three games, two semi-finals and a final. Which would have lasted over two weeks. The ashes series goes for a longer period of time, five consecutive weeks. If the itenary is overloaded get NZ to hold it. It just seems to me it's one of the few sports that doesn't have a World Cup.

They just couldn't make it fit into the time that is currently available in the international cricket schedule. I heard this directly from an ICC Delegate.

If a one day world cup is in some way a representation of cricket, then no way. When television presenters say the world champion meaning one day world champions in that genre but not in the real version, then again that is not cricket. It was meant as a diversion to keep players active before they assume their duties of first class cricket and Test Match cricket.

The whole logistics of organising all countries would be absolutely horrendous.
