Do those that suggest "Bush lied the United States into Iraq" forget about Bill Clinton and his administration?

Did Clinton lie also?

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."

--President Bill Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."

--President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."

--Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."

--Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."

Letter to President Clinton, signed by:

-- Democratic Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others, Oct. 9, 1998

Update:

Hillary lied to us also?

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to

Oh, and still no apologies from the left since we DID find MWDS in Iraq from 2004-2011 but that information has been suppressed... Obama would have BRAGGED ABOUT IT; Bush apparently had class.

Nice try. When Clinton made those statements they were true. And we did deny him the ability to continue manufacturing. Sure Saddam would use those weapons, except he didn't have them.

Perhaps you remember that Republicans ridiculed Clinton for shooting a missile into a camels butt. Clinton told the truth, Republicans made fun of him for it.

In 2002, thanks to the efforts of the international community, economic sanctions, and UN inspections. The stuff left in Iraq from the Iran Iraq war was deteriorated and useless. Saddam could not get what was needed to start building weapons again.

Did Bush lie? Well he was the guy blaming the intelligence community, so it is apparent he agrees that he was wrong.

Let me see if I got this straight. You are saying Bush order an invasion in 2003 based on statements Clinton made in 1998. That means only Bush is guilty but Clinton gets to slide by. I am a democrat and I am full of shyt.

Clinton told the truth - he then put into action the targeted air strikes and sanctions that destroyed Iraq's WMD projects (with Republicans fighting him all the way).

Your guy was caught lying (the devil is in the detail - GWB knew the anodized aluminum tubes and Uranium from Niger stories were groundless but told them anyway) - continuing to lie is not the solution.

    You think that absolves Bush.

I didn't forget about that. However, the only 'WMDS' found were damaged and expired chemical munitions. They're leftovers from the 1991 Persian-Gulf War.

You typically sad pathetic ignorant con.THE HUGE DIFFERENCE is that Clinton, knowing he could not be 100% right, did not grab his military and run off without thinking and wage one of the longest and costliest war in our history.

OOpps ,Forgot the bunch line . Clinton did not KILL over 4500 US troops and over 200,000 innocent Iraqis .
