I lived alone and I'm disabled, can't drive and just have a few friends.
The best thing I ever done was to get a dog.
Having a dog makes me responsible for taking care of him and taking him out for walks and you'd be surprised at how many dog walkers you get to talk to and make friends with.

Look around your neighbourhood to see if there are any elderly folk who are also on their own and would like company.

I would contemplate suicide, but if that does not work out I would be heavily into gaming or secondlife.
