Why can't I control my emotions when on my period?

The day before my period(before I even realize it is my period) I get utterly irrational. I snap and pick fights with my boyfriend over things like not waiting on me to eat crock pot dinners. Then continue after same subject relentlessly, cry, scream, say we are over. It is awful. How do I get this under wraps?

Track your time of the month. The days before let him know what is about to happen. When you understand that the source of your anger is just hormones you can remind yourself of this and hopefully control your emotions. Tell him about it too. Let him know where this comes from so he can give you your space or cuddles or whatever you need to chill out. Try to give him a few days advance too. Just be like hey babe my time of the month is coming. Keep some chocolate nearby for me.

Well it's your hormones rising because of your period. This is called PMS, if it is really bad you might want to talk to your doctor about it and they might be able to give you something to help deal with it.

Hormone fluctuations. Go see the doctor they have pills for this. Also getting outside and exercising really helps keep a lid on it. You are not going mad, many women get this to some extent :-)
