I know that 128 of our civilians were killed when a German boat attacked RMS Lusitania off the Irish Coast. They also sunk and killed at least 629 U.S. Merchant Mariners sailing across in the Atlantic Ocean, and Germany had sent its agents to infiltrate the mainland U.S. in order to conduct a series of sabotage at our ports and munitions factories, killing dozens of American civilians in the process, as happened at Black Tom Island.

it would have been under 1,000 there was a passenger ship sunk with 180 Americans killed and a few cargo ships, the only reason they joined in was because Germany wanted Mexico to declare war on the US and the Germans would help, they would than give Texas back to Mexico where it belongs.

A little over 900,000 per year. The Census Bureau kept tabs on that.
