Why don't people choose a best answer anymore?
When Yahoo Answers went and changed virtually everything about the service, they took away the ability to vote on a best answer and the expiration of questions. Thus, a question can stay open forever, and only the asker can pick the best answer, and he/she/they can do it whenever if they even choose to do it at all.
Now, I'm not complaining about this feature. But I have noticed that askers don't choose best answers. They just leave their questions open. There are even sometimes where they'll acknowledge a best answer in a comment, but fail to click the "Award Best Answer" button. Why is this?
Personally, whenever, I ask a question, I always choose a best answer. I never leave it open for too long.

Could be a few reasons,if it is a user who doesn't use yahoo like that than they may not be so sure on how to choose best answer.Also if the user didn't get a answer that answered their question,that could also be a reason.I guess it just kinda depend on the user and what they got going on,but i agree about choosing a best answer.

Good question. Maybe users think there is no reason to pick a best answer anymore because questions remain open even after a best answer has been chosen, so maybe they think why bother. Or maybe there really isn't a best answer, or users forget, or don't care, or there isn't enough of a reward for giving a best answer and numerous other reasons.

My opinion is that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" because they always make it worse, and then leave it like this. I hope everyone complains to them, so they change it back. If I knew where and how to contact them, I'd sure complain....I don't come on here much anymore, and eventually I'll stop altogether.

I think we are seeing more users now selecting a BA than ever before.
I haven't seen Answers post anything about the numbers though

The voting feature was removed. So fewer best answers. People never picked best answer very much. Probably mostly kids.
