I sure do. Lestat is forever my one true love!

Don't you mean how the Southern Vampire Mysteries differ from Anne Rice's novels since Anne Rice's works came long before Charlene Harris'?

For one Rice uses a totally different writing style. It's very poetic and graceful with detailed imagery. You feel like you're there, wrapped in the character's voice, as though they are real. I think maybe Lestat is haha! Also, they take place back in time often and are in the heart of New Orleans.

The Southern Vampire Mysteries are a lot more modern, much more like a soap opera (lots of sex which basically doesn't exist in the Vampire Chronicles except for Tale of the Body Thief) and vampires are actually out in the open as well as living off of synthetic blood.

They're very different and of course The Vampire Chronicles wins hands down in my opinion. But the SVM was not a bad series just not for me. I did read some of the books including the very last one and the other book Harris put out after that one.

I'm so excited for Prince Lestat...but I would be way more excited if it weren't a sequel for Queen of the Damned...I wanted an update on his life as of right now. But you take what you can get, you know? I read Interview With the Vampire in the ninth grade when I found it in my school library (I have that same book, I took it later haha) and I never would have imagined that now that I've just finished high school a new book would come out. It's pretty wonderful.

Thanks for such an awesome question!
