How to help a trapped bird out of my garage?
It is almost 7 o'clock and it's cold and dark outside. I discovered the bird in my garage about an hour ago. I left both doors open and I read that if you make the garage dark and the outside bright, it'll eventually find it's way. So I have the garage lights off and I turned on the outside light. However, I don't think it's bright enough and I don't have spotlights to make it brighter. It's been an hour since I tried the brightness technique and the bird hasn't moved since.
Like I said before, it's dark and cold out so I don't want to keep the garage doors open all night but I also don't want to leave the poor little guy stuck in the garage.
Are there any quick ways to help him out? Usually I just leave the doors open for hours until the bird finally finds his/her way out but I don't really have that kind of time.
My parents forced me to close the garage about a half an hour ago. I hope the little bird will be okay through the night. There are old horse blankets hanging up on the wall so hopefully it'll nest in there and there are dog water bowls in the garage. The only thing is that there isn't any food and I wanted to throw a grape out there but my parents won't let me.

Birds don't eat at night, they sleep. Open the door in the morning. If you see the bird, wave a blanket or something in its direction. It will choose to leave.
