Questions about Ram on laptop?

I have a 4gb 64bit windows 8.1 toshiba laptop and i want to install atleast 4 or 8 more.

Anything i should be considered about?

Oh and can i take the ram memory card from another laptop and put it into mine?

    Your best bet would be to go to crucial.com and let the site run it's memory analysis too. The tool will tell you exactly what kind of RAM you have in your computer. Once you have that info write it down and then shop around for the best buy on RAM. A good place to shop for RAM is on Amazon.com Check it out.

    All you really need to do is add a 4GB stick of RAM and bring your total RAM up to 8GB. There is essentially no need to even consider 16GB or RAM unless you are a gamer and have a gamer laptop. Most folks don't so unless you are wanting to run high end games just go for 8GB.

    As long as the RAM is the same type and socket as the RAM in the laptop, you should be able to easily transplant it. Just be mindful of static electricity and you'll be fine
