It is frequently used to remove a question or correct answer that someone does not like because they have a different view of how things should be. This is especially true in politics and religion.
The appeal procedure simply does not exist. No one ever responds to an appeal. I have appealed several reportings. The only response I have ever received was from Yahoo Canada which decided in my favor and reinstated my answer..

A totally flawed and uncontrolled system cannot suffer from bias!
Is it a heap of crap?
Yes
As for the appeals system - that ceased to function some months ago!

I lost all my best contacts through troll reporting and Yahoo not even beginning to sort anything out. Now my new contacts keep changing their names and profiles and it's becoming a job to know who's who. It's biased against the people who ask the questions and get reported for nothing.

It's not biased - just ineffective because so few users report on a reliable basis.
Evidently it was designed by people who completely failed to grasp that it was a system that would only work if everyone behaved with optimum responsibility.

Its not biased. It's innefective. I've reported clear violations and they aren't removed. As a result, I rarely report. If YA can't be bothered, neither can I.

Since the staff say 94% of reports are correct, there is not much bias. Where you see it is liberal versus conservative, atheist versus Christian and similar foes.

No, in the old days, I often used to praise the reporting system, as it worked, and worked well.
I have gotten falsely reported *accounts* back from suspension. It *can* be done.
But that was all under the old GREEN system.....when you actually got replies back from the Yahoo team.
Now under the purple..........Abandon all Hope, ye who enter here.

It's not biased, no one is in charge. It's just YA, who cares.
