Yesterday I was in Microsoft word, and a microphone popped up. I was able to speak and the words came up on the page. How did I do this?

Update:

im using a mac, if that makes a diference.

    It is called voice recognition software. In the PC world, Dragon Software's "Naturally Speaking" is a $249 add-on. Your mac had it built in, and you never noticed it before.

    You may have called someone about something - a bank or utility company, for instance. A lady with a pleasant mechanical, voice asked you questions and helped - or frustrated - you. That too is voice recognition software.
