Does anyone know why the WWE title was on Smackdown at one point?

Just thought it was interesting that the most important championship was on Smackdown at one point which is the B show.

Update:

By "why" I'm referring to the booking reasoning behind it, not the kayfabe reasoning -_____-

    The WWE Champion was traded to Smackdown.

    The WWE Champion at the time was drafted to Smackdown.

    Because they had the world title on raw, and a separate brand for smackdown.
