"British" english is called 'proper english'. Words are spelled differently and pronounced differently that the way words are spoken in America.

Actually, in America, words are pronounced differently depending on which area of the country you go to.

New Englanders pronounce words very differently than southerners, etc.

Also, In England, words are pronounced differently in each area of the country.

I can't understand Americans. They sound so different in real life than on TV or in movies. Like WAY different. But I can understand The British perfectly. They pronounce every letter besides the R and their A's like "ah".

There are as many different US accents as there are British accents. The differences are too many to add up.
