why do plastic flowers not have a fragrance?

I got my girlfriend plastic flowers, but she threw them out of our fifth floor apartment window, because they don't have a smell.

Why don't they grow plastic flowers which have a fragrance?

    Plastic flowers do not grow, they are man made. You could have sprayed some perfume on them before giving them to her. If you must buy artificial flowers then silk ones are much nicer.
