Happiness or Money?
Two questions...
What would you do do if you are given two options
1) To do a job in a location where you hate to live but with good income
2) To be in a place you love but on low income.
Those who choose (2), what would you do if your parents compel you on option 1 neglecting your dislikes and keeping eye on money! ?

If you need the income, I would definitely go with 1. You wouldn't have to be there forever, but it would help you get on your feet and with money comes lots of opportunities. You might even make some great friends and it won't be so bad. Once you feel like you are stable you can do whatever you want, move back or do something else.

If parents are supporting you and helping you with expenses then you need to pursue the option they are proposing until it becomes more clear what your ultimate direction should be.
Anytime you reach 18 or the age of adulthood in your country you can do whatever you want but remember that living outside of the home is going to hit you with expenses that you did not have to deal with at home. If parents are still willing to help you when you are about to embark on a career you should try to come up with a compromise way to accomplish that.
Keep in mind that most people have several careers in their working lifetime. So after 15 years or so you may want to shift careers anyway. If parents are willing to make those first transitional years easier for you, that is an opportunity you should try to work out.
Best wishes!

Well, how do you KNOW you'll hate living there, until you have actually tried it? I currently have a good job in a terribly remote locale, but I enjoy it more than any other job I have every had. Most of the people are terrific, and the work is challenging. To sum it up, I say go for the dough. Good luck.

I would chose 2.
In the UK when you are an adult your parents cannot compel you to do anything.

Go for the money for a few years, then I have the choice and the financial flexibility to go and do whatever I please.
My life, my choice.
