Why are my answers constantly being "funneled" to other categories??? I post in the cat. I'm on...& it winds up somewhere else.?

Ever asked a biology question but accidentally chose the health category instead? We’ve made the change to allow you to ask your question and edit the category after it has been posted. There is no time limit to edit your category and you can recategorize your old questions too.

So if you’re not happy with the answers you have received to your question in the Dining Out category and want to see what the foodies in the Food & Drink category could contribute, you can move your question there.

Additionally, our Level 7 users who have contributed to so much to the site for so long now have the ability to recategorize any question that may have fallen into the wrong category.

You do not post in the category you are currently looking at - that is not how the system works. Regardless of which category you have open, when you ask a question the computer places it in a category based on the key words you have used. If you disagree, you can then use the Edit Category option to move it.

The category you're in when posting has no bearing on the category in which your question will be posted. You can choose that yourself when posting to do that.When you post and click submit it will show the category YA chose to place it , if is inappropriate click

"edit category" above browse for the

category you want click and choose it, if

you don't see it

in the initial list click "All" top line

left and you 'll see them all to choose a sub category click the main one and from the list choose the sub category, click then

submit.

If you don't choose it at that time you can return later and change the category.

There are a lot of people here who play a category game. I usually change it back and add an update saying, "I can play this game, longer than the person who keeps changing the category" They seem to get the message.

Unfortunately, they gang up on people in lower levels who can't change it back.

That's what's frustrating. If I answer a question in "Polls & Surveys"...it should GO to "Polls & Surveys". "Politics" goes to "Politics" etc., should be standard no? I shouldn't have to redirect it. I'm in that category for a reason. To answer & get responses from the posters that actually asked the question. Maybe I'm being too anal. Is that "Mens Health" :- D

Yahoo post the questions by the key wording,however it does gets it wrong sometimes,due to system malfunction and send it to a inappropriate category.Also level 7 can move your question,but just edit category and you can move it to the appropriate category.
