If we just made all the changing rooms, showers and restrooms coed, would that solve the transgender bathroom issue?

Would a transition like that be harder for men or for women?

Update:

I wonder if some of the people here citing the "less than one percent" statistic are the same people who would fight to the death to protect the rights of members of dynastic wealth families and their fortunes? If so, there's a double standard afoot. Our liberal democracy is a Republic for this very reason, to protect the few from the many.

For whatever reason, the men's showers were shut down at the resort in Kona where we honeymooned so they directed everyone to the women's showers. No worries on my part, I'm always up for an adventure and the women's shower room definitely qualified. But, when I got inside, it wasn't anything like I had anticipated. There were opaque glass doors on the shower stalls. The shy people, male and female, changed in the shower stalls while everyone else just behaved as if the entire situation was completely normal and went on about their business as usual. My locker room fantasies were crushed but that situation informed this question.

One of the local outdoor concert venues near me runs everything from classical concerts to rock shows and they serve beer and wine. During the rock shows, some of the women will use the men's restroom because the line for the women's is unbelievably long. I've never seen a guy complain or refuse to use the urinals because women were around. As you might expect, this never happens during a classical concert. Are classical music fans just more uptight or do women at rock concerts drink more beer? I'm guessing both.

I can't think of a better way to solve the gender issue, for the benefit of the few, then to make it a non-issue.

The "issue" effects less than 1% of the population. Screw them.

Your update is wrong. The only rights any of us are guarantied are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. We were not set up to protect any individuals.

What about the rights of everyone else? Should my 12 year old daughter have to shower with strange men because of a few perverts?

Isn't it grand that a fraction of 1% of the population can bully the rest into assimilating to them? Elitism on parade. Become a Liberal class unto yourself? Everybody "not special" must bow and scrape. Or, we will be sued into bankruptcy.

Women enjoy the privilege of having their own washrooms and women would prefer

    to keep their own washrooms.

If they provided more privacy, whoever is next to you is irrelevant.
