How important is coming out as gay in the workplace?

Not. It's risking yourself to vulnerability.

Plus who really needs to know.

I suspect some people I work with are gay but I don't ask. Not my business.

And after three years with one company and 2 with another, I look completely straight and chat women with my co-workers but don't mention that I also like guys.

It's important if you want to be open and honest about your life. Straight people have no worries about that kind of thing, and gay people shouldn't have to worry either.

Think it this way at a work place you have several religious under one roof. That does not include the nationalities under that roof. In other words keep your sexual attractions to yourself.

Why? Who cares?
