how long does it take for cancer to spread?

The dentist found a spot under under my tongue about three wees ago. I went to a special oral surgeon guy and he said if it's not oral cancer he doesn't know what else it could be. Anyways I'm getting it removed next week but I'm worried that if it is cancer, is it possible it already spread? BTW Im 17.

It takes a long time for cancer to spread. Before I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, I'd been having pain in my leg for almost the whole year. When they did scans, there was only three tiny nodules in my lungs. Barely three millimeters, each of them. They're about to be removed.

A week isn't a long enough time. If it was they would have removed it the instant they found it.

You should contact your doctor. He can give you a correct answer.
