Is the statement "I want some for me" grammatically correct?

Simple question. Band is writing a song and the hook is "what did he have? I dunno, but I want some for me" and it just doesn't feel correct to me. Thanks

How about ... "I dunno, but I want some of it" because the number of syllables (?beats?) is the same -- at least.
