Surely this appalling breach of law is basis for impeachment.?

A White House source has leaked the content of Obama's planned Executive Order on immigration.

Obama will announce the executive order that simply directs the Attorney General to "take any steps necessary to defer the enforced departure.." of approximate 30% of the illegal immigrants in the USA for 4 years. It goes on to require the State Department to waive the requirement for these people to have a valid passport and to allow them to legally work in the USA.

In announcing the Executive Order the President will actually demand amnesty with the words "I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though sometime back they may have entered illegally" .

Surely instructing the AG and SoS to simply disregard the law of the land and allow criminals to get away with their criminal acts is an impeachable offense?

Maybe we should go back and impeach Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan and George W. Bush who did exactly the same thing, And, don't give me that answer that Reagan's amnesty involved Congress. That is true but, after granting full amnesty Reagan used an executive order to prioritize prosecutions just as Obama is doing and that did not involve Congress. The same is true of the other mentioned Presidents.

Woops - I just realized that the quote earlier was Ronald Reagan and the executive order I described was EO 12711 - signed by GHW Bush in 1990.

So I guess JW and I am the Question Mark will be calling for charges to be laid against Bush now?

Still can't get 67 votes in the Senate. House can turn out all the bills of indictment they want. Until the Senate can get a 2/3 majority, ... Impeachment fail

It was a reference to executive orders both Reagan and Bush signed following enactment of 1986 immigration legislation that granted amnesty to many aliens without accounting for their spouses or minor children who didn’t meet the requirements.

In 1987, Reagan’s White House announced deportation protection for minor children of parents granted amnesty by the law. In 1990, Bush signed an order implementing a Senate bill assisting up to 1.5 million spouses and children.

It is like when a police officer lets a person pass who doing 1mph over the speed limit and he does not stop them. Immigration laws have no punishment for not enforcing them in the law. They are both called discretionarily enforced laws.

Yes it is. Part of Obama's swearing in ceremony and part of his job is to protect America from invaders. He said himself he would do that very thing.

But we all know how much Obama lies.

It's doing something. I don't care what's done anymore. Just start passing laws and do something besides the nothing that's being accomplished.

Perhaps we should explain how laws are made to the "Constitutional Scholar" using a medium he can understand:
