If me and my fiancée signed a lease on a house together and we breakup and she moves out, is she liable to pay half the rent for the life?

    Technically, each of you are liable for the full amount of rent through the end of the lease term. Just remember, if she's paying half the rent still, she has the right to access the apartment.

    You might want to contact the management company and see what options are available to remove her from the lease.

    She would be required to pay something. However, you are also responsible for trying to find a new roommate. If you don't want to live with someone else, then you need to break the lease, and she would be responsible for half of whatever that costs.

    Just like you, your landlord would be responsible for trying to find a new renter. You may get stuck with a few months of rent and some other charges, but, depending on how long is left on the lease, it may be the cheapest way out.

    Yes. If her name is on the lease she is as responsible for the rent as you are.

    However, if you are living there and she isn't, man up and pay your own way.

    You need to read to see if there is an addendum in a case like this one # that you oh have to find a replacement. But yes she is liable.

    it would have to be settled in court a judge would have to decide that he or she would have to listen to both sides to make a decision
