I think I applied for a fake job - What should I do now?
I applied for a job that was posted in my local paper. The company was legitimate. However, the position and contact individual was not.
Unfortunately, by this time I had already responded to an email requesting my name, address, telephone number, email, age, and marital status.
I've put an alert on my credit. However, should I take any further steps to ensure my identity/email isn't compromised?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

If you haven't divulged "personal identity information" (DOB, SSN), you're probably OK. If you really want to be careful, place security FREEZES (not just fraud alerts) on your credit record at all three credit bureaus. You should never be stating marital status or age (other than "over 18") in ANY job application or interview.

I think you should call the cops and explain them what happened or you should write an other mail to this false entreprise and give them a random adress, phone number ...
