Which camcorder should I purchase?

Hello! I am looking to purchase a camcorder to use for the film of YouTube videos. I am debating between the Canon Vixia HF R30, The Sony CX-240, and the Canon Vixia HF R400. PRICE between these three is not an issue. I am simply wondering which is better for shooting high quality and professional YouTube videos. Thanks.

I agree with Daniel K... but you will also want a tripod or other steadying device (chair, shelf, stack of books, rock - anything bu not handheld), LOTS OF LIGHT, and hopefully your computer and video editor can deal with the video captured by whatever you select...

And just to be clear, "professional" video gear starts at about $3,000 for a camcorder. Your short list is entry-level consumer grade equipment.

You want:

* external mic jack
* flip out screen that can turn around so you can see what the camera sees.
* Good format that you can pull into edit software.

I was looking at the Canon Vixia HF R500 because of the microphone jack.

You will also need:

* Tripod

* Edit software

* Lights or DIY light kits.

The Canon models would be my choice because most of them come with a mic jack which allows you to use an external microphone.  A good mic placed close to the person speaking will make your audio much better.
