I am not 'fascinated' by them. It is their choice as to how they view the universe. It's all a random accident to them. I happen to believe in a Creator entity, but I do not follow any 'organized religion' either. That's my choice.
Atheists do seem to like to point out certain things though. They seem to be a somewhat negative-thinking sort of people. Hence they draw attention and 'fascination'.
