I bought a $249 Xbox 360 and it came a $50 gift card. This was Walmart. I wanna take the 360 back; its unopened. Can I keep the gift card?

I've read their gift card policy and it doesn't say anything about returning it. In fact, it says gift cards aren't returnable.

Dude, no. It's embarrassing that you have to even ask this question. Walmart isn't in the business of handing out free $50 in cash. No one is. The gift card policy is for those who purchase a gift card by itself, you can't return that for a cash refund otherwise everyone who gets a gift card would return it for cash value and use that money out for other stores. The entire point of selling gift cards is to make sure the purchases stay inside of the store, the store is guaranteed a payment regardless of any purchase, many of which aren't entirely used up, and the store makes money off of that as well.

When it includes those things in a package deal, the entire package deal must be returned. If you return it and the CS person fails to make sure the gift card is unused and returned along with the game system, you're basically stealing from the store. No, you can't keep a $50 gift card from Walmart for paying absolutely nothing.

If you don't give them back the gift card, they take $50 off of the return.

Otherwise people would buy and return consoles but keep the bonus all the time.
