Should winners of music awards like the Grammys be voted online or through social media rather than by a panel of judges?

For me, I think these music awards should should be voted by the people through social media. A panel of judges does not represent the opinion of society as a whole. Aside from this, you need to have fans behind you to back up your credibility as an artist. In order for you to pick up a Grammy for a certain category, I think it s only fair that the people get to decide your fate since they re the ones listening to your music after all. Through online voting or voting through social media, we can really see which artist/group really deserves the award as they were chosen by the people to win. Keeping this in mind, groups like One Direction would undoubtedly sweep the Grammys as the band have a massive fanbase that s been renowned for winning awards through voting online or on social media. While it may seem a bit strange at first, I think it s only fair that the people be the ones to decide who deserves to pick up a Grammy
