How to rebuild front hub assembly on 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500?

The front left wheel bearing has gone out on my silverado 1500. Instead of buying the while hub assembly which would be easier, is there any way just to take it apart and replace the burnt out bearing?

Please be detailed in your response,

Thanks, John

It can be done, BUT, it will have to be rebuilt by a good machine shop. The hub will have to be pressed out, then the ABS tone ring removed, then finally the bearing. During assembly, the tone ring must be installed to be center of the ABS sensor. Overall, a 3 hour job to rebuild an integral ABS hub. At $40 an hour, you just bought a new hub with some change remaining.

Not within reason. I don't think you can do it with a vise and a hammer.
