What are those fabric bands you often see more 'alternative' people wear?

I'm from the UK;

was wondering if there was a specific name to the type of fabric bracelets you see that are normally worn in excess? Not sure if they're as common in America. Thanks c:

    we used to call them sweat bands in the 70's if those are what you mean.
