4runner vs jeep wrangler?

Offroad Jeeps aren't meant for comfort or road handling. This is the same for fuel economy, which hasn't changed much from the CJs 45 years ago to the wranglers now.

If you plan to stay on pavement, a 4runner is far better than a wrangler.

If your looking for something that's more safety, comfort, and gas friendly, then the 4Runner is more of the way to go, Toyota designed the 4Runner to be more family orientated so safety and comfort are a big thing, plus it is more gas friendly and technology based than the wrangler, speaking from experience the wrangler is very rigid and rough when it comes to driving

Both will hold their resale price point - if your using it 90% on paved roads buy the 4runner, however if you have always wanted a jeep, then expect to pay more for gas & a bit rougher road comfort. really thou the wrangler was built for 4 wheelin
